PREGÓN DE MANGLAR
La agrupación musical juvenil Sonar de Marimba ha sido invitada a un importante festival de música folclórica. La fecha de partida se aproxima, los ensayos musicales se intensifican. Pero la realidad de un paro nacional hace que todo penda de un hilo.
Una travesía a través de la cual el espectador tiene la posibilidad de comprender que de los manglares de Mosquera no sólo se sacan conchas, de estas raíces también brotan canciones. Para sus habitantes hacer música es mucho más que una expresión folclórica. Es, antes que nada, una forma de comprender el mundo, de contarlo, cantarlo y, sobre todo, resistirlo. Una forma de resistencia cultural, declarada por la UNESCO en el 2010 Patrimonio Inmaterial de la Humanidad.
Sonar Youth Marimba music group has been invited to a major festival of folk music. The departure date approaches, the musical rehearsals intensify. But the reality of a national strike make it all hangs by a thread.
This is a journey in which the viewer can understand that, at Mosquera´s mangroves, not only shells are removed: these roots also sprout songs. For people there, making music is much more than a folk expression. It´s, specially, a way to understand the world and explain it, singing it and, most important, be able to resist it. A form of cultural resistance, declared by UNESCO in 2010 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
